Cleaned the G8 up today

I have the week off and spent this morning cleaning my car. Truth be told I only ran it through a car wash once this winter... I don't have my orbital anymore so this was all by hand. With the standard G8/GTO paint it has more than its share of small chips and scratches in the paint, but I wasn't worried about that today. I'm actually rather happy how it turned out. Forgive the picture...I was too lazy to grab anything other than an iPhone.

No, I haven't. If tomorrow was going to be nice I planned on going to Milan, but it's not looking so good. If that doesn't work I may try again on Saturday.

Thanks. No close up pics because of the true condition of the paint, but it's good from far, ha. I had considered having you guys do it this week, but I have to pay for this semesters masters class yet so I need to save my pennies for the time being.

The srt8 300c I had was the BEST car ive owned. Ive driven a g8 gt and gxp and id take the 300c all day.

Full exhaust with stock mufflers in addition to the tune and CAI.

I've driven a G8 GT (obviously) and a 300 SRT, but never a GXP. The price range you listed puts you well within GXP territory. With that said, I'd go G8 over the 300 SRT all day. I couldn't stand how the G8 shifted when I first picked it up. The shifts seemed to take forever and were very lazy. I had Livernois tune it, and it's a whole new experience driving it. It isn't too firm to daily drive at all, but I can chirp 3rd when I want to. I've never looked in to aftermarket parts or tuning potential for the SRT stuff, so I can't speculate on that. My car is faster than a stock SRT by a decent amount as it sits, and should be a little quicker than a stock GXP, but I can't verify that as I haven't raced one yet.

I had wanted one for years and am not disappointed at all in it. The downside for the racing stuff is the size and weight, but for a daily driver I love it. With snow tires in the winter I had no issues at all, which I was pleasantly surprised about.

It cleans up alright for having never been detailed. I could put some more time and effort in to it and make it look considerably better, but that wasn't my goal today. Maybe later in the spring when it isn't so damn cold. I did most of this in a quarter car wash in the wind/snow we had earlier. The rest I did in my garage.

The paint has a couple swirls and a lot of chips. I don't know how much can really be done with the chips without repainting the whole thing.
