Changing plugs on a 4.6 ford...

Bout to go ahead and change my plugs after nearly 65k of driving like a prick..

Anything i should know about other than they look like a p.i.t.a. to get to?

Recomended gap is .052 should i go a lil bigger or smaller???
Also I heard people saying not to use antiseize on the threads as there is a chance of the plugs blowing out of the holes on the 4.6 &5.4??? I dunno... i just heard some b.s.:dunno:(i have seen it on a 5.4 before)

I got champion iridium plugs, nothing super special....
waiting till tomorow am when the motor is cool...
 
A dab of anti seize is a great idea. The plugs blowout of the heads due to crappy thread engagment and or the wrong plug being used or the head had an insufficient amount of thread in it.
 
I assume you've done this already, so I'll just post for others benefit...

Be extremely careful to not over-torque the plugs when you re-install them. There is only 4 full threads or so, so the risk of stripping them is fairly large. This is were most people have issues with spitting the plugs....they over-torque and stretch/strip the aluminum threads.

I've used anti-seize on mine numerous times with no issues. Don't gob it on and you'll be fine. My view on that is that aluminum LOVES steel/iron, and left alone with each other long enough, they will marry each other, LOL! A small dab of anti-seize will prevent this.
