Changing instrument panel bulbs

Has anyone ever changed the bulbs on thier instrument panel? My car has the green bulbs and I would like to change it over to the red bulbs. I was looking at my friend's capri today and his panel lights up red. I figured since my car is red it would look much better than green. Any tips would be very appreciated! Thanks, Jake

bulbs are clear on four eye cars. there are plastic covers that snap on over them. or you can remove the covers i would guess and get colored bulbs. very easy on your car.

if you just put red caps on be very careful many times they end up with a pink tint to them. your better off to go online and order some leds and the color is 100xs better, they are brighter, and last longer

these red caps don't fade, they are thick plastic. The led crap has been triedon fox clusters, it doesn't look right. Not enough bulbs to light it up correctly. Even wide angle style. And on the fox cluster there isn't any direct light to wash to pink. I have been there and done it. I speak from experience.

ya i dont know about for the fox.. but if you just use those cheap rubber caps they look pink from day one. i originally had this on my nitrous gauge looked terrible so i just threw in a led bulb and it looks great now

I agree. Bought my 79' in 1987, had the factory green dash lights. Changed them out with the red caps in 1989 and never had a problem. Then I finally stepped up in 1991 and put the factory 1985 GT gauge cluster in.

Well, I went to murray's to get some red bulbs today. It was easy to put them in the cluster. The heater control panel was a different story. I just need to find a radio with the red lighting and also the covers for the console lights and it will be good to go! Looks much better having the red lights with a red car. Thanks for the tips guys!
