Cerwin Vega VS-120 - Vintage 12" Loudspeakers - Great Condition

Cerwin Vega VS-120 Vintage Loudspeakers

***SOLD*** $250 for MM members

Very good condition - minor scuffs at the edges typical with vintage speakers.
Woofers were professionally re-foamed within the last year and only have ~3 hrs of use since.

These will get LOUD and have great bass. With a 97db sensitivity they are extremely efficient and don't need much power although will handle lots if your amp can deliver. Frequency response down to 28Hz means you won't need a subwoofer for 99% of music. Very fun speakers that are guaranteed to wake the neighbors when desired.

Specs:
Type: 12" 3-Way (12", 4", 1")
Frequency Response: 28Hz - 22kHz
Power Handling: 5/250 watts
Sensitivity: 97db
Nominal Impedance: 4 ohms
Crossover Points: 300Hz, 6kHz
Dimensions: 32" x 16.5" x 14.75"
Weight: 57 lbs. each

Oh how I would love to have those!

I have so many sets now! I must get this
speaker addiction condition under control!

They're nice but not perfect. It's what I was going to do with them although I was on the edge for similar reasons. Ultimately I decided I didn't want to give up the floor space and used speakers I could wall mount.

Do it!

Love to put these in my garage

But seems like I'd be desecrating some clean vintage speakers

I bought a set of these off Craigslist a few years ago for my garage. Used an old receiver with them..........they kick ass. Do it!

Those CVs have bass for days. Even though they're efficient, they need a beefy amp due to impedance dips. Those guys will dip to 2 ohms no problem and maybe even less, which could cause a less powerful amp to oscillate or blow a fuse.

I had almost the exact same pair in 15" though. I recently sold them when I moved. With enough power to them they could shake the ceiling tiles....
Well worth it for anyone thinking about picking these up.

Back when I lived at my moms. I had a pair of RE-30s (12" versions) upstairs too. Sold the RE-35s a few years back. Fed the AT-15s 400watts from a pro audio amp and they rocked.
