Ceramic car coating

They've been out for quite awhile now. Since they're semi permanent, you'll want to get the paint as perfect as you can (no holograms, RIDS, swirls etc). You still have to be careful when washing and drying the car as the ceramic can still scratch, get swirls etc. look into maintenance of it as well. That's about all I know of coatings since I still like to use sealants and waxes.

That’s what I been reading as well was just curious on others opinions and if anyone has ever done and what they thought

I'm going to do my new truck when it comes in next month. Marc recommended CQuartz UK to me. Like James said above, you'll want to have a good, clean pain job to start from. The consumer versions of the coatings last 18-24 months but the professional ones can go 5-10 years.

cquartz finest reserve is highly regarded. I've also read good things on IGL Kenzo if you're doing it yourself. If you use a detailer, I'm sure they have a preferred product. Choose a reputable person.

I just had my Charger detailed with this applied at the end. The shop said it should last 8 months to a year depending on how I take care of it.

I see people on youtube putting 5-10 coats on?? wonder if it has a measurable thickness? How does it wear off? Flaking...anyone have a sheet peel off? lol I actually miss AutoLavishs' posts....those were so detailed. I spent all yesterday with clay/polih/wax so im feeling that "detailers pain"...

What happened to him? He still doing detailing?

FWIW, I used Cquartz UK on the wife's Grand Cherokee roughly a year and a halfago and its been great.
Coatings are truly 90% prep and 10% application though, so be prepared to spend a significant amount of time and effort.
With that, I would recommend a coating to those who have the time and are willing to put in the effort - as it makes maintenance washes that much easier/quicker.
Also, be sure to follow manufactures instructions no matter which coating you choose. It can certainly help avoid lots of frustration.

I talk to him on FB from time to time. He's the one who recommended CQuartz UK to me as a consumer (non-professional) product.

I did talk to Matt at Detail Express too. He uses the professional grade products that can last 5-10 years but they're not cheap. To be fair, most of the cost is labor.

I did my Polaris ranger.

When weather breaks I’m going to do the Jeep and Cadillac

I use Adam’s
Pretty cheap and works
Easy to use
