CCW and CPL what's the difference?

In Michigan, CCW is the statute that they charge you with if you don't have a CPL. ;)

In practice, the terms are interchangeable.

in MI, the ability to legally carry a pistol is a CPL (concealed pistols liscence). a CCW is Carry Concealed Weapon, and under the CPL you cannot carry a concealed weapon; IE anything that falls under the weapon catagory other than a pistol. IE a concealed shotgun, stun gun, illegal mace, switchblade, brass knuckles etc.

Its only for a pistol.

I am not a lawyer, so dont take this as true legal speak. Just trying to shed a little more light on the subject.
