A friend was pulled over by Melvindale police. Officier claimed she ran plate and driver came back suspended by Detroit. Impounds car.

The so called suspension the officer claimed was cleared up in Detroit before the vehicle was registered and insured. My friend did not have the court clearance on her person. No other tickets on record. Is the officer full of shit or can their systems be that far out of date?

Can't get the car out the impound til tomorrow. Gonna be $150 fee.

I was arrested for this exact same thing , A paid ticket had not gone through yet and I did not have proof of payment . I went to court charged with driving on a suspended Lic. and won but I was told that I would have to file a separate case against the police department to get my impound fees back. Our judicial system sucks ..... End of rant

After screwing around for a couple hours trying to get 36th district court to pick up the phone, a ~3 minute wait for Secretary of State concluded what I thought- the ticket was never took out the system.

After going to 36th district to get clearances, we went to Melvindele police department. After about a 30 minute wait, the officer came and told us the ticket would be thrown out and it was a mistake on their behalf. We had to pay 100 hundred dollar impound fee since that is a private company. The officer said he will write letter to his chief and that the impound fee will be return to in a few days.

*Keep a copy of ALL traffic court documents and paperwork in your vehicle or on your person. There's a chance these cop's systems aren't up to date and a traffic case your judge threw out can still show up different in a cop's database
