1999 superduty single cab drw 4x4

under question because; description on web site says it a diesel, pics of out side have v8 badges, and a pic of the gauge cluster that says diesel fuel only.
and I'm in the market for a new truck!

7.3, 6.0 and 6.4 powerstrokes are all V8's...............looks to me like the badge says powerstroke V8

99 will be a 7.3 Powerstroke V8 diesel

^Agreed, that's a powerstroke badge, gas engines don't say V8 on the side, they say Triton under the F-XXX badge.

the gas trucks have a badge in that location that says either Triton v8 or Triton v10. the power stroke badges are behind the wheelwell 99-2003.5 are black and chrome for the 7.3, 2003.5-2007.5 are black, chrome, and red for the 6.0s

i knows a lil bit about ford diesels...:bondage: haha

but if i strain i can see power stroke above the v8... just not used to seeing that badge... iduno...

Thanks for the info, I think I was thinking of the F-150s, they don't say V8 anywhere IIRC. I don't recall ever seeing badges behind the wheelwell though, I'll have to do a pic search.
As far as the 6.0 goes, I think the badges are red as a warning.........

i couldn't come up with that one for the life of me :gr_grin:
too funny
any ways
I emaild the stealer ship and asked them to send me some very specific pics, the leather on the driver seat looked pretty worn, i wanted a better pic of that.
and the inside of the bed and from underneath in the center of the bed. try and see if it had a 5th wheel or goose neck set up at one time or another...
truck is 255 miles away in ohio, I'm not driving down there just to take a peek at it... i don't have anything better to do but fuck that haha

Actually you're not 100% correct. The early 99's have the badge that this truck has, and yes, that badge says "powerstroke V8".

99.5 - 2003 are the behind the wheelwell black and chrome.

thanks for the correction... never said i was 100% right so i missed .4 of a year haha
i was going off of my fathers old late 98-early 99 f350 was one of the first super crew cabs off the line, special ordered..., his had the badges on the rear of the fenders not on the front:headscrat silly fords...

this truck has the badges i'm talking about
10194603070.224356984.IM1.MAIN.565x421_A.562x421.jpg

with 100,000 less miles for $4,500 more....

Ah, the ones on the doors, now I get it. As far as the trucks and prices go, tell the place with the white one what else is out there and try to get them down.......250mi is a LONG drive if it's a pile. Either way, take a GOOD look at the oil pan, it's a huge job on a 4wd diesel, as well make sure the turbo works and isn't leaking oil.
also, if these are at dealers, tell them you want to see the Carfax before you come for a look-if they won't do it, walk away.

x2 on the oil pan, that should be a deal breaker. I've had 4 of these trucks and my brother has had 3 of them. They're great trucks but look out for that oil pan.

Also, the early 99 trucks have some small differences, I think those still had cat converters on them but I think they had better rods or something? I can't remember exactly but I know the early 99 trucks run very well.

i got to thinking about it and if I'm going to spend 17,000 on a truck i really don't need I'm going to spend 18,000 one with that's built to hell with around 700 hp at the wheels... only thing i don't like about it is its a 4door and its a sled pulling truck...
