Can anyone recommend a GM trans shop on the westside?

My brother's father-in-law just had his auto transmission in his newer GMC half ton go out. Turned it off, went inside to do something, came back out and started it and it won't go into any gear. Does anyone have a trans place they'd recommend? Thanks in advance.

Actually, the truck is up near Howell, but a tow down here is cheaper than a tow back to Grand Rapids.

Depending on how far west you want, accurate transmission in Belleville does great work!

I recommend A&H trans in Brighton. They have done work for us and Lloyd is a great trans guys

will the truck go into reverse? how many miles???

might just be the shift solenoids. (about 10-15 each)(there are 2 in there)

Won't go into reverse, or any of the forward gears. It will go in neutral (we can push it). It has 160k on it.

It is not uncommon for the 4l60 transmissions to need work after 130K or so.

I know, im getting kind of scared myself(146k). Its only a matter of time now with towing the new boat everywhere.

Im glad i work for a transmission company. thats alotta coin.

id drop the pan and change the filter before i did anything. it might be plugged with shit and it will only take you a few mins to do. put fresh fluid in and a filter and you might be good for awhile

That was remove/replace and rebuild/relace everything they could in my 4L60.

Jatco transmissions. our HQ in japan builds all the RWD, and CVT's for the nissan and some chrysler products. We do quality stuff where im at and they also have a couple re-man lines.
