C4 tanny problems

Earlier today I went and started my car (I have it stored) and after having it run for a good 20 mins I get under her and find a huge puddle of tranny fluid??? It has never done this before. When I drove it over (7 Miles) there was no signs of it leaking hell there was no puddle at work. Now I jacked it up and found it to be leaking from inside the bell housing right at the converter... No tranny fluid in the back or on the pan but it's all over the flex plate.... Anyone have any Ideas before I pull the fucker out?

Hope you get it figured out Casper. I agree sounds like a front seal.

Does the converter have a drain plug? {some do, some don't}. If the flexplate is wet, it could be a small pin hole in the weld of the converter as well.

Just went through that with a friends converter... Had the whole trans gone through because of little problems & when it all went back together it leaked like crazy. Turned out to be a pin hole in the weld of the converter (A couple uses of the transbrake finds leaks real quick). Sent it back to the manufacturer to be fixed & problem solved.

The more I look into it the more that it looks like the converter. It was cut and re-stalled once before.

Whos converter is it (I know.. its yours..lol) , give them a call & let them know the deal & they will likely repair it for little or nothing. The one we had problems with was a LUPO & was about 6yrs old & they had no problem repairing it. Worth a try.

I maybe able to help you out with the 157 sfi flexplate:bling:

Just one guess! Cool let me know.

Well I put some tranny fluid in last night and I fired it up for 20 or so mins and not one drop? I did notice the drain plug on the oil pan had backed off a little and was leaking oil but a wrench ended that problem!.

Should I pull the trans to be safe or wait until it leaks again?
