Out put shaft? You mean input? They slide in and out. Slide it all the way in before you line the converter up.

yeah thats what i meant but is it supposed to slide all the way out?
like pull the shaft out and set it on the bench lol

oh okay sweet jordan and a few others told me that the shaft wasnt suppose to just slide all the way apart thanks for calmin my nerves randy i was gonna be a lil pissed much appreciated

ok now that worries me!!! i already put my trans back in and i couldnt slide my input shaft out. c4 with a break built by joels a few years back.
i hope the trans is ok

Some of the aftermarket input shafts have splines that are a little longer than the factory ones, as a result sometimes the input and output shaft crash, causing a burr on the end of the input and some metal content in the trans.
When this happens you will Not be able to remove the input.

This is the problem I have with mine. Afraid to guess what it needs.
