C4 full manual in forward pattern?

ron, you do not have to buy a new valvebody for a full manual forward pattern. all you need is a transgo manual valvebody kit. there are differant kits depending on the year. you can not make a "green dot" 64-68 valve body into a fwd manual.
the kits are not too difficult to install, and any transmission mechanic should be able to install one for you.
some disadvantages to a fwd pattern.

The reason you don't see
too many foward pattern manual valve bodies is:
1# Liability. If you miss 3rd gear { D } and hit neutral or reverse the results can be ugly. Hitting neutral at big speed can cause the direct drum to burst {acting like a grenade} in some transmissions. Hitting reverse can cause almost for sure trans damage, and the vehicle to swap ends.
For the C-4, Detroit Gear Box is right. The only one I know is the trans go -3 kit for the C-4. It's a easy kit to install.
