I'm not a NASCAR fan, but I saw this on ESPN over the weekend...

He was parked for the rest of the weekend, and Mars, Inc wrote a pretty strong statement against his actions. It'll be interesting (at least for NASCAR fans) to see if he gets fired for this, or if NASCAR brings down some heavier punishment on him.

Just wondering what the NASCAR fans thought of this? Also, if this was discussed somewhere else on the board, I apologize...I haven't been around much lately. I did a quick scan of the various sections and didn't see anything, but I could have missed it.

STATEMENT FROM M&M’S / MARS INCORPORATED

The recent actions demonstrated by Kyle Busch are not consistent with the values of Mars, Incorporated and we’re very disappointed.

We do not condone this behavior and expect those who represent our company and brands to abide by the same values our company stands for.

We have expressed our strong concerns directly to Joe Gibbs Racing.

To all,

I've had a lot of time today to sit and reflect, and try to put my thoughts into words as best I can.

I want to sincerely apologize for my actions during Friday night's Truck Series race at Texas.

I apologize to my fans, all my sponsors, everyone at Joe Gibbs Racing and Kyle Busch Motorsports.

After talking with my team, it's great to have their support and encouragement to assure me that there are better days ahead. Even though this took place while driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports, I am sorry for how difficult this has been for everyone associated with Joe Gibbs Racing's Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series teams.

I'd also like to apologize to Ron Hornaday Jr., and everyone associated with the No. 33 team in the Truck Series.

I understand why I was taken out of the car for the rest of the weekend. NASCAR officials had to act, and I accept their punishment and take full responsibility for my actions.

As a racecar driver, the hardest thing to do is to sit on the sidelines listening to cars on the track when you know you should be out there competing. For this, I have no one to blame but myself.

Through a lot of support from the people around me, I feel like I've made a lot of strides this year, but this was certainly a step backward. Moving forward, I will do everything I possibly can to represent everyone involved in a positive manner. However, I know my long-term actions will have more of a bearing than anything I say right now.

Sincerely,

Kyle Busch

Good job Kyle Busch, I would have done the same. Show no weakness!!

For the record I am not a Nascar fan but that made my day!!

They parked him for the rest of the weekend. He would have also run the Busch race on Saturday and the Cup race on Sunday. More penalty possible. He was the third driver to ever be sat down in this manner joining Robby Gordon and Kevin Harvick.

Hornaday clearly didn't intentionally get into Busch and it was bullshit that someone that comes and runs the race because he feels like it took out a championship contender at 150 MPH.

It was a racing incident plain as day....I see it every weekend..The car on the inside looses air off the spoiler when a car is right on the outside and essentially pulls the ass end of the inside car around...the inside car has to go up the track to catch it and kyle was there..kyle pinched the 33 down low next to the lapper and thats what happend..kyle knew exactly what he was doing..
but for him to intentiionally wreck the 33 UNDER CAUTION was way out of line...im glad he got parked for the weekend...the kid can drive, but he needs to calm the fuck down lol

A better revenge would have been to get new tires on the truck during the yellow, and go to the front and win. Isn't that what he claims he is racing for wins, not points? He has the talent to win, too bad he wanted to go to his motorhome and make motorboat noises instead of putting on a good show.

Busch League;)

I am glad they parked him for the weekend, wrecking a competitor under caution is going way to far.

Sounds like Z Line wants him out of the Nationwide car and he might not even run the rest of the Cup races. It's a good thing he owns his own truck and was going to start running his own Nationwide cars next year. Might be his only shot at driving.
