Broken bolt help..

I got new valve cover gaskets yesterday, bad enough to where my LT collectors have oil on them. Last night I go to tighten my bolts, one breaks .. Luckily it broke near the top of the bolt. I pick up a couple bolts this morning, get them in.

Long story short, another, bolt broke off damn near flush with the head.. :bored:
Any advice? The only thing I can think of is drilling it with a vacuum near it.. :X

Drill the center out a little. Then use an extractor to get whats left of the bolt out. Should be able to do it without needing to tap the hole.

clean the oil around it with brake clean and rags, use tape, rags., etc. to isolate the head from shavings, then drill, easyout, etc. as needed

stop tightening them so tight

I would replace ALL the bolts, as 2 have broken already

and the shop vac idea is good too, do it as well

Thanks, I started to drill the center before I left this morning, and I am picking up an extractor after work as well.

Didn't even think about using tape.. I'll grab some of that as well.

:S -.- Idk why, but I was double checking myself when I snapped the second one .. just about to leave for work..
I'll be picking up bolts tomorrow morning.. Same thing happened while using the torque wrench for my flywheel bolts ..

You would think that the bolts were new 25k ago when the engine was put together?? We'll see how it goes.

Thanks for responding guys :)
