Brand new f150 engine fire?

Just went on a vehicle fire. Brand new 17miles 2014 f150 ecoboost. Entire engine compartment was engulfed... Is there any other news of these catching fire?

Go on Yellow Bullet. There is tons of cases where people are scattering engines, turbos, ect. Seems a lot of problems with these on there.

Glad I went with the 5 liter. My cousin has been a powertrain engineer for Ford for ~20 years and he told me do not buy a truck with the ecoboost motor. I'm happy I listened!

I have sold tons of these trucks with no problems what so ever. I had an issue with my first one, but it was also the first production run of trucks. My 2013 has been perfect and I treat it like a truck. This Winter I think it saw more WOT beatings than any other truck I've owned.

Yeah, I'd likely hear about any pattern issue this significant, I have heard a few others about other fords

Maybe somebody put a Tesla battery in it?

I find it funny how easily Tesla is getting off the hook for their three burned down vehicles. If the F-Series was burning down at the same rate as Tesla (ratio of fires per vehicles produced), a new F-Series would catch on fire every three days, and would have been doing so for the last 20 years. Tesla made a minor tweak though, so everything is OK.

update: After talking to some fellow firefighters about it after ward it was said that the truck had just had a minor front collision (approx 15mph~with another vehicle prior to the engine fire. It appears the fire started in the area of the battery...and the collision did hardly any damage to the truck, nor did it deploy airbags. Also i have some pics i will post soon, after looking at one of the pics i dont see the ecoboost emblem on the door, but i thought for sure i had seen it ( i was on a later arriving truck, truck was well engulfed). None the less, it was a bizare fire, but maybe not a fire started on its own like originally thought.

you mean a panasonic battery? ;) how many 787 dreamliner battery fires have there been? (lower production that a tesla)

Read through them, it's always........ My buddy or my cousins neighbors or I read this somewhere or some odd ball shit.

I think 91trunk would have a good handle on issues.

Bring it out when you do my cameras..... I know of a deserted road we can go find!

I know some engineers too......... They are some weird guys that never have anything good to say about stuff they work on. Ever.
