Been going back and forth on a rear disk setup for my car.

i cobbled together a whole lincoln rear setup from an 89 mark 7, invested in slotted rotors. you can see it in my other thread on this board. the problem is that i can't make a parking brake function without significant modifications. using lincoln axle shafts would correct all the fitment problems but kick the wheels out past the wheelwells, which is ugly as all hell. i'd really rather not go without a parking brake since i'm running a stick, but i could with minor mods to this setup.

2nd option is to sell off the lincoln parts and go with an SN-95 setup. only reason i was avoiding this was because the calipers and rotors are smaller than the lincoln pieces and i hate solid rotors. however, i could easily convert my axle using sn-95 shafts and brakes and cables. this would leave me with slightly less braking power but correct my wheel spacing and give me a handbrake.

the 3rd option is to put ranger drums on it and call it a day until i can afford a Baer kit sometime next year. still have the original drum system and cables lying around.

converted to 5 lugs, by the way.

I put the sn95 rear disk setup on my car about 7 years ago. Works good, cheap, plus, your fronts are doing most of the work anyway.

I did my old 8.8 with some used parts some new parts.
Ran to the junk yard pulled the carrier from a f150, (65 bucks) went up to a place off of northline down in taylor and got two new 31 spline moser axels for 120 each. Ordered long studs 50 bucks, put is all together and had a 8.8 with 31 spline axels for around 360 bucks and it all worked fine for a 5 lug drum brake setup.

i poked around in the intarweb for a while and came up with a solution. i'm gonna use caliper brackets from steeltech solutions and early gm rear calipers and motorsport parking brake cables. still cost me less than 3 bills and it looks like it'll work a lot better than what i've got, plus i can use the rotors i already have.
