"Bought" a new phone :)

Nothing special...I don't have a data plan or texting or anything like that. I've been looking for a PHONE phone for a while now, but couldn't find anything that I liked. My current phone is a Motorola RIZR...I liked it, but it's falling apart, cracked, scratched...just time for an upgrade.

So, after searching Verizon's online store for a while for free phones (I really didn't want to pay for a new phone if I didn't have to) I found the Casio Exilim. Looked nice to me, and seemed to be just what I needed. A regular phone with a nice camera (5.1 mp + flash). Had an OK rating...3.5 stars I think. Good enough for me (I RARELY use my phone)

Great thing was that my plan actually went DOWN $7 to $33 a month So I ended up getting a free phone, free shipping, and a $7/mo reduction in plan cost. Not too bad!

Yeah, I'm pretty good with phones. Usually they fall apart before I have a chance to break them :lol: I hadn't heard of it either...I was getting frustrated because all the phones were either too expensive (aka more than $50), had a full keyboard (I don't text NEARLY enough to warrant that), or were smart phones (required data plan). This was the ONLY one I saw that I liked, and the price was good

Well, I don't know about Verizon, but the process on AT&T is as follows:

1. Use your upgrade to buy an iPhone (at this point I would wait until the new one comes out and pre-order it). This will cost about $200.

2. Sell the iPhone on ebay (or not on ebay) for $800.

3. Buy whatever dumbphone you prefer off of ebay, amazon, or anywhere else. I wouldn't pay more than $200 for any dumbphone.
