blown clutch??

i just got this contour svt......i went to go around a car real fast hit 2nd hard and boom nothing there seems like the clutch is blown it makes noises when i let off the clutch like somthing is spinning but the car wont move so any insight will help thx motown...

I'd say so how's it smell? Clutch probably exploded. Those are fun to change. That's why for dd gas saver I like a 1gen dohc 5sp neon very simple an cheap to maintain. And reasonable quick an fun to beat on.

Sounds like the TOB died. Gonna have to replace at least clutch and throw out bearing, maybe new flywheel depending on the condition of yours.
