going to start collecting parts for a ls swap in my blazer , its a 2 door 2wd , xtreme

depending on what I can find at the time im either gonna do a 5.3 or a 5.7 ls1

not really looking to build it for power or anything , just a stock motor and maybe eventually hit it with the spray later on down the line

pretty simple thow , either want the 5.3 or 5.7 liter with a 4l60 trans

what parts do I need ? a lot of different sites say a lot of different things

so far im at

engine
trans
oil pan
harness
cross member ?
computer
motor mounts
headers
fuel rail adaptor

im sure im missing something else

also what year engines and computers should I be looking at ? id like to stay away from having to deal with the chipped keys

got an 5.3 engine at the house. intake to pan. 850$

came out of a running truck i was told.

all accessories are still on it too.

id like to run a/c , from what im reading ill either have to notch the frame out for the a/c or get the compressor re-locator kit

also im reading ill have the get the drive shaft cut down like 2 inches ?

something im not sure about is people are saying there cutting the cross member to get the engine to fit , does a notched oil pan take care of this ?

I have almost everything you would need.

Were you going to try and run a factory computer or an aftermarket like a fast? I have both.

The gmpp swap oil pan fits tight, no need to notch, but there will likely be no room for the engine to drop if you ever need to pull the trans

The holley sway oil pan gives more room, no need to notch at all

I have a set of vette accessories without the a/c if you decide to go that route, will still need to relocate the compressor tho

ill be using a stock computer

the wire harness looks like its going to cost damn near as much as the engine lol , 700ish ouch , and ill be buying one because I suck at wiring and want this to be a clean install , will I need to have the drive shaft cut down ? ideas on what year engines and computers to use ? any stock computers better than others ( ie , a different tune in the computer for more HP or TQ ? ) and id like to find a computer that doesn't need a matching key or programing right off the bat to work

you will need the computer flashed to get rid of any security and emissions codes if nothing else

this will be a perfect time to learn wiring, as long as the engine comes with a harness, its not really that bad

or get a hold of Duke on here, he owns Downriver Motorsports Wiring, see what he would charge
