bigger tensioner pulley for mustang

i need a bigger diameter pulley for my tensioner. the belt slips now that i took the smog and a/c out, now i have a shorter belt way, shorter. but the way the vortech is its not like any other mustang just to run a shorter belt.the alt. is clocked to the driver side a bit. i took some material off the stop of the tensioner braket...it helped but i think a bigger pulley might help alot more. i tried using an extra idler from the top it seems to be the right diameter but it hits the blower belt:banghead: if i take about and eighth off the back it should work but if i can find the right one it would be better... so if you guys have any ideas let me know, thanks

i looked and there is nothin on a 94 gt with a vortech with no smog and no a/c and screw the fake pulleys im not wasting my money on that junk..

I had a similar set-up, Vortech, in my 95, and I removed the AC compressor and air pump. I put in an idle pully in place of the air pump, (available from Summit, etc.), Nonetheless, I ended up going back and forth to auto parts stores looking for a shorter belt, and finally found one that worked well. You can make an estimate of how much shorter your belt needs to be, and then compare with what's on the shelf, that tack worked for me. I have a collection of belts now.

Not sure if this will help in your situation or not but I run a smog delete, Ford AC delete, and everything else stock. I ran the stock tensioner pulley by drilling a new anchor hole for it on the Vortech mounting plate. It ends up clocking the tensioner upwards about 1/4", which keeps it from rubbing itself at the water pump pulley. Here, you can see how the idler pulley sits just a little higher than it does "stock" with the Vortech setup:

The belt is 83.2"

The BGG 8 rib kit comes with a larger tensioner pulley, take a look on corral you can get them used for a good price normally. If you have the cash they are around 500-600 new.
