I know there has been multiple write-ups about how awesome of a mortgage guy Steve is but what he did for my fianc' and I is unheard-of in this market and he needs recognition for it. Back in May we started the process of looking for a new house and found one we both liked, placed a offer and it was accepted. We were pre-approved through another mortgage company (John Adams) for a much higher dollar amount but chose to be conservative and go with a average home. We had posted our previous house for sale and had it sold within 2 weeks, closing from one to the other was going to be 2 days apart and supposed to happen on July 13th and 15th. On approx. July 10th my old mortgage lady calls and says she is having troubles getting the loan approved because I am paid a salary plus commission and she wasnt able to use the commission part which is almost half of my bring home. WTF I am now freaking out and start calling around to other mortgage companies to see if anyone can perform some sort of miracle fast closing, when I started telling them the story the basically laughed and said it would be a miracle to get a closing done in 45 days.....thats when I called Steve. After telling him what was going on and the situation we were in he told me up front and honest that there was no way the John Adams lady was going to be able to fix her mistakes and she was going to have to redo our entire mortgage process. After hearing that I agreed to cut her loose and Steve said he would jump in and do everything possible to get it done quickly. First thing I had to do was ask for a extension from the bank (house was a foreclosure).....upon asking for the extension the asset manager decided to just kill the deal and re-list the house for sale rather than grant us 2 more weeks. GRRR. So we moved into my parents house with all of our stuff stored in their garage and immediately went into house hunting mode. After seeing a few we see the initial house come back on the market at a lower price so I call the realtor and ask if we can resubmit a offer and they say yes...long behold its get accepted and $3000 less that what we were going to originally buy it for with the exception we close in 24 days. I immediately called Steve and told him the conditions and he agreed that he could get it done, within 3 days he had the old file on the house re-opened and within 5 days had the appraisal ordered. With a couple of hiccups in the 24 days (weekends, issues with appraiser and asset manager) he was able to get us the clear to close 24 hours before closing. Steve went far and beyond what any other mortgage rep would ever do from sending emails to the realtor at 11pm at night telling them to get their shit together to reassuring both the fianc' and myself that we were going to get the house. He has a awesome team that rushed this process along and admits he probably pissed some people off but wanted to make sure he kept his word and got this done for us. If anyone is in the process of getting a home or doing a refinance I would without a doubt urge you to contact him first, he is honest and upfront with any issues that come up and works hard to get them resolved. Thanks to him we are beyond happy to be homeowners again!
