I was going to wait to post this until after I got the car down the track but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.
Looks like I spent a bunch of money just to let the car sit in the garage all winter. Other issues (misfire cylinder 7) combined with a lack of time to troubleshoot have kept me from getting to the track after the install. I guess now I have something to look forward to in the spring!
Anyway, Scott built me a killer 12 bolt for my Camaro. The car drives just like stock with it in it. Here's the specs:
- 12 Bolt
- 33 spline axles
- 3.73 gear w/ solid pinion spacer (yeah, I know - shoulda gone 4.10)
- Tru Trac
- Welded axle tubes
- 3 channel ABS
- big ole driveshaft w/ 1350 U-joints
We'll see how it holds up next year. For my power goals it didn't make sense for me to stick a power robbing 9" into the car even though that is what everybody recommends. I don't plan on putting a cage in this car so it will never run quicker than an 11.50. This rear should be able to handle that.
