Best way to tow a car

Looks like we may be driving a UHaul out to AZ.
What we're trying to figure out is.. do we ship my fiancés car and tow mine on a car trailer... or ship mine and tow his car on a dolly?
My car is AWD so we cant dolly it without messing with the car.
My cousin said pulling a full trailer will be a pain in the ass and get worse gas mileage, slower drive etc..
Will putting his car on a dolly put a lot of wear on his car?
Never done this before, suggestions please!

 that was not one of the options.

Rent a full trailer and pull it behind the u-haul, I wouldn't want to deal with a shitty tow dolly for that distance. Follow behind in another vehicle.

Have a buddy drive it out, show them around a couple days and pay their flight home?

We're trying to find someone (preferably 2 people so they can rotate drivers) to do that now.. trailer his car and find someone to follow in mine. We would pay for gas/hotel room and flight home.

I personally wouldn't want to use a dolly that far, I don't even like using them to get the car home in a pinch. They just seem sketchy to me. i'd find someplace to rent a full trailer and use that if you insist on towing it rather than just driving.

Have it shipped

Since last time i used a uhaul trailer it cost more to bring it somewhere and leave it, than bringing it back to orginal location

Prob cheaper to send it? ($900?)
2 ppl, gas $300, hotel $120, food $100, airline $700, wear tear $?

They do charge more if your not returning whatever you rent, truck/trailer. I was almost relocated to Texas, the cost for not returning the truck and trailer was minimal.
