I'm looking at getting a couch or sectional that will last, First time shopper for any type of furniture .

Any suggestions on where or what to buy?

Don't buy any of the packages. We looked at Gardner White and Value City and settled on one at VCF...we've already had the cushions redone and the frame is starting to show some wear. Spend the money and get the quality.

Look for some Amish furniture, they make some very nice quality (and classy looking) stuff.

I like Gardner White more than. Art van

Gardner white screwed me over for a month
They sold me a couch , love seat , and a chair they didn't have in stock said I would have it in a couple days ...

A month later I got my money back ..... And it wasn't easy

My mom bought a sectional from Tyner in Ann Arbor. It's all hardwood framing, and nice, but it was a few grand. You definitely get what you pay for when it comes to furniture.

Gorman's has nice stuff, and you can squibble over the price.

I have a Art Van couch set I got when I moved to the area in 01, it's pretty beat.

I HATE dealing with Gardner White, they screwed us on a deal with a mattress, and I'll never step foot in one again.

I'll gladly pay more to go to Thomasville, Ethan Allen, or Gormans.

Just bought furniture myself. If you want to do it right, get Lazy-Boy, but man that shit ain't cheap. We bought from Art Van for our first couch and it lasted about 4 years. That's what I just got rid of. I think we paid like 1200 for a couch and love seat.

Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Arhaus, or Tyner in Ann Arbor is nice as well. I do realize the middle two are super expensive, but floor models may be significantly marked down.

agreed.

we got our couch from Art Van, we've had it about a year and a half now and it'f held up great, but it only gets used by guests since we both have La-z-boy chairs that we sit in. my thought was get comfortable chairs for us and a cheaper couch for the guests.

VCF quality is crap, fart van greedy sales people drive me nuts. We've had good luck between Costco online (free shipping), or macys
