I have an optima red top that I'm using in my mustang but would like something better quality. Anything better out there? I would like for an agm due to it being trunk mounted.

Haha can't blame ya for wanting to dump the Optima! Odyssey batteries are pretty good and lots of people use them. A lesser known battery brand is NorthStar. They have more reserve capacity then comparable AGM's of other brands and usually cost less. I don't know about f its true but supposibly the guys that originally designed Odyssey batteries are the ones running NorthStar.

I remember the optima red top were all the rage back in early 2000's

They were, then they shipped production to Mexico and the quality went to hell. Just an outdated design, low reliability, over priced battery now.

Yea I was very disappointed with it. I remember hearing great things about optima a bit back. That's why I bought it. Thank you Duke

Diehard Advanced Gold are now AGMs. Not a fancy "look at me" battery, but most sizes are highly rated by Consumer Reports (if that holds any water). They also are pretty reasonably priced. And if one dies prematurely, at least for now, it's as simple as taking it to your local Sears (until they're out of business) to swap it.

If you're looking for fancy/expensive, then I'd probably look at an Odyssey.

Batteries+bulbs sells Deka AGM batteries. Price is decent and warranty is the longest I've been able to find. Have a decent network of stores for warranty if needed too.
