how roughs the program?
hows is it finding a job after you get out?
is there any body size requirement because im only 5'6" or do you have to be able to lift a certain weight?

also any other info would be helpful

thanks in advance for any info

not sure about size but one of the tests used to be you had to carry a 120lbs? dummy down stairs
I signed up once for volunteer but then I started working 60+ hours a week and traveling alot so I never completed the training

Size makes no difference, work ethic is very important though. I work with some really good firemen that aren't that big. You will have lot's of fun doing it, you will need patience finding a job in Michigan, depending on where you stay, Macomb, Oakland, and St. Clair CC (where I teach) are all good. An EMT license would be a good idea also.

Most departments require an EMT and paramedic license. Most of the runs(like 90%) are medical runs, unless you work for Detroit Fire.

I went through macomb's program, there is an agility test to get in. macomb.edu and go the fire section for more info. Or go up to east campus(groesbeck and elizabeth) to get the info directly from them.
