Battle Creek Speedfest and Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show & Balloon Festival bring you the first 1/2 mile standing head to head shootout of its kind. Here we will see some of the fastest cars in the country, as well as a few from Canada.

We will be running on one of the taxi ways, which is 7,400 feet long. Participants will have 4,500 feet to shut down safely after the run. There will be 3 sessions throughout the day - one in the morning and two in in the afternoon. We will be limiting the number of participants each day so that there is a possibility for participants to do multiple runs in each session. Motorcycles are welcomed.

This event is the only one like it in the country, and will be taking place concurrently with one of the largest air shows in the US. Over 100,000 spectators come out to see all of the festivities including live music, carnival rides, various family games, and many more. We will be running throughout the day on center stage in front of all spectators.

Leading into pit row, we will have a vendor row, where manufacturers will be able to display their products. There is also where all spectators are welcome to see the participating vehicles up close and interact with participants.

Since this is being held in conjunction with an air show at a working airport, we will need detailed information from each participant to comply with airport security.

Event will be held Friday July 3-5, 2015.
Participants: $50 per day or $125 for the 3 day weekend

They are trying to have an escort ride from hotel to airstrip that would be worth catching too

I wish someone would organize a speed week up at Wurtsmith in Oscoda the runways at the old air force base are close to 12,000 feet long
Kalitta has his repair operation there and Im sure they would sign on

I just registered last night and received confirmation email. There is a drivers meeting at 9:15. Also they are accepting registrations on site as well.

That would be cool! I have a cottage just outside Oscoda and I have a bunch of Friends that work on the base. Penske had some vettes up there last summer doing testing
