Battery Longevity and Winter Storage

we also stock napa batterys with the rack and trickle system, they are on the charger 24/7, i too have never pulled a bad one

i use a 3 bank(2 troll, 1 engine) cause the livewell, aerators, and stuff use the engine batt and are always drained too because the engine doesnt run long enough to charge it.
I would post in the tournament section of LSCN.net and see what everyone is using. What kinda of boat do you have. If you put the charger in the boat dont mount it flat. I was told by many that the boats flex enough to hurt the circuit boards if you flat mount them. Everyone said to stand them up on their side if your using a bigger 2/3 bank

I have an 89 Ranger 680 Fisherman. I was thinkning about getting a Guest Charger, 3 bank and I have the same battery arrangment as you. I'll try the LSCN.net and see. I have been looking at charger for a while and it's confusing as to what's good and what's not. Lots of reviews both for and against all the different brands. So far the one's to avoid are the Prochargers and the Cabelas/BAssPro ones, but the rest seemed like contenders. The Minnkotas are like big blocks whereas the others are flatter. Never heard about mounting it flat being bad, but I wouldn't know.

Yeah the AGM's require dillegence when charging becuase you can overheat them and burn up the matting.

Spong lead or solid lead. If its a wet cell battery the same precuations apply. but the more you dicharge a batt below 50% the more it looses capacity. Spong lead celled battery are vastly more prone to this type of fialure then solid lead cells and generally thats the difference between deep cycl and starting batterys.
