Axle Swap Fox Body...

Looking to swap my Capri to 5 Lug... I know on a 7.5 rear end you can use 2 ranger Left (Driver) side shafts. But is there a 5 lug car that has The same axle length as the fox with a 8.8 ?

Thinking Lincoln Mark VII which I know has a 8.8 and is 5 lug but are the axles the same width ?

Thanks

lincoln axle shafts are 1.25" longer than fox shafts. they won't work unless you use the entire axle or the disk break components from the lincoln axle. then your wheel offset becomes a problem, they'll stick out farther than the fronts.

this website http://mjbobbitt.home.comcast.net/mustang/5lug.html has a bunch of options for using ranger(driver side)/aerostar(passenger side) axles with either disk or drum brakes. i went with the cadillac caliper/lincoln rotor option and it works fine. make sure you have the 10# residual pressure valve and aftermarket proportioning valve if you do that swap, you'll need them to have a functioning parking brake and not go around in a circle in a corner =P, its a powerful setup.

but if you use two ranger/aerostar axles, and the matching 5 lug drums (9") then you shouldnt' have any problems.

7.5 and 8.8 stock axles are the same.

I have used the Aerostar axles and Lincoln rotors before, definetely works.

Just dont plan on using that many wheels without modifications, the Lincoln rotors up front hinder you somwhat.
