Audi questions...looking for knowledge

Looking at a 2007 Audi s4 convertible. These have the 4.2 awd, has 70k miles. Wife likes the car and looks clean. Do these have issues, should I walk away?? I figure it's not a inexpensive car to own
 
Are the 4.2Ls the V8? I seem to remember the V8 models being expensive to repair and the parts were hard to come by (unless you spent big money)
 
Yes nice drop top under 20k. Must have a back seat for my kids and not a mustang or Camaro

Define "nice" otherwise what you are looking for is a Jeep Wrangler 4 door. If you are looking for a "luxury" convertible, then the Lexus IS convertible might be what you are looking for.
 
Nicer for the wife to drive, 3 series, Lexus, g37 vert. Already looking for a wrangler tj for myself
 
Can't go wrong with a e93 bmw if she wants a 2 door vert. Find a newer 335i with the N55 engine and she will be set! The older N54 is a great engine too but has a few more issues. Either way, I miss my 335i with the N54 on a daily basis!
 
I am looking for an SL55 myself.. they sell for under $20k if you watch hard enough. They do have some expensive repair bills sometimes. But at 500hp it will shit on everything as it massages your ass.

Pully, tune, exhaust and away you go.
 
So my wife is getting worse than in getting another car. She was talking to her boss about us wanting something else and now we might by the bosses 2012 S4, cars loaded and still under the certified warranty for another two years. Hoping we can work out a nice deal for under $30k
