Arnold Classics and UFC 82 (Fight Spoilers) Experience

So I just got back a little while ago from Ohio and will say that I had a blast. The Arnold Classics was awesome and saw a few MMA fighters, Arnold and alot of fake boobies, :D.

First I want to say that the governor was not as big as I expected. I would say he looked to be 6ft or so. He had his security with him as he walked through the crowd. Alot of people were yelling, "Get down", "I am a detective you idiot", etc.

Next I want to comment on Jay Cutler. The dude is a freak. He had muscles on top of muscles, lol. He was at the Muscle-Tech booth signing autographs. BTW he had a big time Leno chin. Too bad his is a result of HGH.

Next I walked by the Team Quest booth and we see Soku (UFC Fighter) signing autographs. I will say that he looked small. TV must add 20lbs of muscle mass because he really did not look all that intimidating. Except for the fact that he looks like the Predator. :D

Some other fighters that we saw were Urijah Faber (Seemed like a cool guy), Miguel Torres, and Jeff Monson who was taller than 5' 9". He was there competing in the Absolute Division in the NAGAs.

Ok now for the UFC experinece. I will say that the seats that we had were in the $100 prize range and were better than the seat on the lower level. We could see everything from the seats we had. We got to the arena a little late and missed the Jorge Gurgel fight and he finally won a fight, lol.

Next was the Diego Sanchez fight and I will say he looked to be extremely shredded and prepared for war. He went in there and just smashed his opponent. You know it is bad when your opponent taps due to strikes.

The Koschaek fight was next and will say that he was dominated in the first round. His fight was not really that exciting and he did end up catching his opponent with a nice kick to the face and winning the fight due to a knockout.

Next was the Arlowski fight and I really will say that I was disappointed with his performance even though he won. He fights really scared after being knocked out by Tim. I will say that he did do an excellent job with his sprawls. He stuffed pretty much ever takedown attempt.

Fitch's fight was extremely boring and he needs to train alot harder if he expect to do well against GSP. The best thing about that fight was the background shit talking going on in our area. I guess the guys that sat behind us all wrestled with Fitch on the Purdue wrestling team. So if you can imagine they were yelling dumb shit throughout the fight. The guys next to us got fed up and started talking shit on how bad Fitch sucked and how is wrestling was garbage, lol.

The Okama-Tanner fight was pretty slow and Evan looked out of it. Being out of the sport really did alot of harm to him. He was really slow and his punches had no snap to them. Okama did dominate the standup and caught him with a nice knee to the face which knocked Evan out.

Chris Leben was on deck and his fight was really exciting. He stood there and banged it out with Sakara. He did end up winning the fight via a knockout. Chris as of late has really impressed me. He looks to be taking his training seriously and it show in his latest performances.

The Kongo-Heath fight was actually really exciting. It was a back and forth fight and Heath actually did a good job in the standup vs Kongo. Kongo impressed me with his escapes from the bottom. There were a few times were Heath had a great position and Kongo was able to escape the attack. The winner of this fight was Heath which in my opinion deserved the decision. He fought a great fight.

Finally the main event. I can say the crowd was going crazy when they announced both the fighters. As they announced both fighters you can tell that Anderson actually look pretty confident and ready to bang. Once the bell rang both fighters circled for a little while before anyone would make a move. The crowd was actually starting to boo but that did not last long once the action started to begin. Anderson looked to be the better fighter on his feet. His punches and kicks were really crisp while Henderson seem to swing wildly anytime he had a chance to throw. I was pretty concerned when Hendo took Anderson to the ground. I expected Hendo to be able to dominate Anderson based on the position he had. Anderson was holding a half ass half guard which I thought Hendo could escape if he tried. The bell rang and it looked like Hendo was taking the first round. The next round was different. Anderson threw a nice combination which stumbled Hendo and put him down to a knee. Through the transition Hendo went for a take down which was stuffed by Anderson. This ended with Anderson being in the half guard of Hendo and eventually taking his back and sinking in the rear naked choke. The face Hendo made when being choked out said it all. He was beat that night by not only a better fighter but someone who is going to reign the divison for a long time.

Oh yeah what do you guys think of Coleman vs Lesnar? I am actually picking Lesnar to win this fight. :D

Overall the experience was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who is really into UFC.

I have a few friends who went and competed. I should see them tomorrow. I gotta see if my buddy's wife won.

like I said LUCKY ,,,, we have a fight in INDY this weekend . should be fun /. but not UFC fun though

What did they compete in?

I think only my buddy's wife actually competed this year. I can't for the life of me remember what weight class she's in. I know Kuclo, Justin, Paz, Big Mike, andquite a few others went to go see her compete.
