Yes, the warranty is valid until Mid Feb 09 (90 days from yesterday)

The warranty was going to expire in december but they extend it 90 days from the replacement date which was yesterday.

when you jailbreak a phone, what cool programs can you use? can you tether with it?

I just realized what you were asking. Since it's unlocked and jailbroken is the warranty still valid?

The answer is also yes, but you MUST restore it to factory conditions before you bring it back to claim a warranty. That means open up itunes and click "restore" and it will reformat it to factory conditions after a few minutes.

I don't know if you can tether, I never looked into it but I would think it's possible somehow but it might not be easy.

Jailbroken phones can still use the appstore but they can also use the programs outside the appstore that you would find in the old school "installer" and "Cydia".

You can run programs such as SSH, remote desktop, and tweaks that aren't approved by apple for the appstore.

There was an app that allowed tethering and then apple caught wind and yanked it out. It was up for a few hours, wish I would have caught it! I just figured there might be an app out there in the jailbroken community that would allow this.

you can do it with the verizon dare as well... you can connect via bluetooth or usb and use your phone data plan. fyi to all you verizon users : )
