AOD trans issue (adjusting shifter)

I had a guy install a rebuilt AOD in my '86 and a new shifter (B&M Hammer).

Yesterday when i started it up and put it in neutral and revved it, the car crept forward which leads me to believe that the shifter cable isnt adjusted correctly.

Does this make sense? Can anyone adjust it correctly? Let me know.

How many miles ? Could be a tight clearnace on the direct or forward clutch pack.Creeping in gear is generally tight clutch clearances. The only other possability would be a cross leak in the valvebody but generally that would create other issues. The car would move forcefully.

I'd bet its just a new clutch pack thing with tight clearances. Drop the pan and check for debris. If its heavy. the unit will not to be taken out and have the clearances adjusted properly.

This trans maybe has 500 miles on it. It was very cold when it did this put it in nuetral revved it and the car moved a few inches forward - felt like it was trying to go into gear - kinda like really slipping the clutch on a manual

Do you know what the rebuilder used for direct cltuchs ? Zpack or OE with the late drum ? If its a zpack that would not be terriably suprising as the pressure plates are thin and warp and partial apply leading to premature fialure of the clutchs in the direct drum.

But thats if it has one of those Red Z packs.
 
Where did you get your AOD rebuilt and how much? Ive been trying to find a decently priced shop to rebuild my AOD-E if it isnt just completely warped or something. PM me and let me know please. Thanks.
