Anywhere to donate kids toys and stuffed animals

My daughter has grown out of her toys and stuffed animals, she is very adamant on donating them to kids in need. I was wondering if there is a charitable organization that I can donate them to. I would hate to give to good will or salvation army since they resell most stuff and a lot ends up in the dumpster. I was kind of hoping for maybe a children's hospital or give stuffed animals to a police or fire department to help comfort some kids in need. Most if not all stuffed animals were never slept with just placed on her dresser and top bunk bed.

Contact a local church they can them to a woman's shelter most of this women leave with their kids and that's it

What about Toys for Tots?

I tried donating used stuff to Toys for Tots and they wouldn't take it. I agree that womens shelters and church's are probably best.
