Anyone use a Oil pump with anti-cavitation grooves for a SBC on the street?
Summit's website says "FOR RACE ONLY" and im thinking that it lowers pressure at idle but by how much?
I Want to use the melling select 10555C on my LT1 but IF the anti-cavitation grooves are going to lower pressure too much then I will just use the standard 10555.
Motor is a LT1 in my 94 Camaro. 383ci, Heads, Cam, Callies stealth crank, Crower Maxi-light rods, wiseco pistons. Bearing clearances are on the loose side and my machinist suggested I use a high volume pump. I won't be using a power adder of any kind. Car is an automatic so I will probably keep the Revs below 7000 to keep the transmission from turning to scrap.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
T.C.
