I need help from an experienced landlord. I had rented out my house through a property manager. The lease agreement ended earlier this year and I got screwed over by the property manager big time. Didnt get everything that was promised on the agreement that I signed with the property manager. I want to talk to an experienced landlord and get their take on my issue. Any help would be appreciated.

FWIW...

Most any dispute is settled per the contract you signed or
prevailing law, in which either case your console should
be with an Attorney, not another landlord.

Per another landlords experience, I want to know whether its worth it to see an attorney or just let it go.

Agree with 4gas$ above, what does the contract state versus what they provided. I have had two rentals for the last 4-5 years, never went with a management company, so far so good. I don't need to pay someone $50-100 to collect a check or make a service call on my behalf.

I have client, that I did several mortgages for, that is an Attorney that specializes in this area. Let me know if you need his contact info. Thanks

we have been a landlord since about 2010.we have had excellent luck! But we do all the rental contracts our selves. We do not use a property management company. Like the prior poster said why pay a company to collect a check? Our renter sign's 2 year lease's and we are on the third one! IF their is a dispute I would recommend contacting a lawyer and letting him/her view the contract to see if you have any recourse.

That would be nearly impossible to say. We don't know what your
contract states, we don't have any idea what possible damages
could be involved or liabilities.

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, I want to help, but I believe
you're fishing in the wrong waters on this one.

How much $ did you get screwed out of?
Are we talking $250, $2,500, or $25,000?
I've never heard good things about property management companies. I figure if I'm not going to get paid I don't need their help.

Well as everyone said, I'll just have a lawyer look over the lease agreement. I don't want to get into detail on here since the property manager might be a member or someone might know them.

Appreciate everyones input. Thanks.
