Anyone know a Royal Oak officer who can 'help' with a ticket?

I really don't care about the fine, it's the points. I turned right out of a parking lot that apparently has a 'left turn only' sign at the exit - $130 and 2 points. For turning right....sheesh. Ticket is marked 'prohibited turn'.

I was polite to the officer, had all my documentation, told I work in downtown RO, and that I have a cpl.

No luck...blah

Anyone know someone?

Alternatively, if I fight it, does RO usually knock the charge down when you go in?

Thanks!

The stupid points are the problem for me too. I'll pay the fine you can take my money, but the points for something that really did nothing to anybody are ridiculous.

I have nothing to offer in the way of help....but I could use some in Warren if anybody knows somebody. LOL

Can you go to court and try to fight it? Just ask for impeding traffic (non-moving violation so its no points)

That is the route I took one of the last times I got hit for a dumb ticket.

Just like an attorney, you can speak to the City Attorney and try to cut a deal. If your record is clean, they'll work with you on the points (usually). It can't hurt.

Steve. My attonery can get that knocked down to non moving violation ticket, you don't even have to go with him to court . If you want me to talk with him, let me know. He will give a good deal.

Nowadays, impeding traffic isn't used as much as say a double parking ticket...reason behind it is a double parking ticket is a local violation and all the money stays in the city where the ticket was given. Impeding traffic is a state violation and the city has to share the revenue. I had a illegal right hand turn in a construction zone knocked down to a double parking. I was like WTF, until my lawyer explained it to me.

also Insurance companies are wise to the Impeding traffic scam, insurance companies use their own points system, AAA gives 2 points for a 5 over limited access where the state issues zero Like steve said you want this to a NON moving violation that way your insurance never sees, it
