Anyone here have a lt1 imp SS?

So im doing some new car shopping, and ive been looking at some impala SS's im looking at some mid-higher mileage ones 80-120k miles as im going to just use it for a DD are there any specefic problems i should be looking out for? and how outrageous are they on insurance?
 
i had a 95 LT1 caprice which is the same as an impala ss except for the cool looks lol. check for rust or rust repair in the lower rear quarters, make sure its a real SS by the codes in the trunk( i think an ss is code wx3 but double check), make sure the trans shifts good, see when the last time it was tuned up)tune ups are a pain in the ass and $$
 
They're nice driving cars. If I can recommend ANYTHING put an exhaust on it and have a tune put on it. The differences are unbelieveable between stock and a well tuned automatic LT1 car.
 
I had a 96 for about two years. Sold it with 120k on it and it still ran and drove awsome. I wouldn't have no problem buying another with high miles if it was in pretty good shape.

My 95 impalla drove nice, never had any problems with it. The opti's do take shits for no good reason from time to time.
 
OK thansk for the advise guys, yea they are nto cheap by anymeans, but ive always loved them, and form what i hear there great cars i was considerign this or a maruader but id liek to stick GM, im just looking for a big body i can load up whoever with 4 maybe 5 people if nessecary and we can go mobb around instead of all takin our cars (plus i can get some extra gas money) thanks alot for the info again
