Anyone have VAGCOM?

I am helping a buddy get his allroad fixed, does anyone have VAGCOM to read the codes to see why the airsuspension wont work.

Only a few places around have them. There is a place in commerce called BK auto somewhere off of hagerty road. Try calling them and see what they charge to check codes.
 
sucks bc the car has all the air suspension apart and now the compressor is dead...so I cant really get it out to a shop, plus with the german stuff that will just get the cost out of control.

no, I tried here first. I am going to manually check the compressor and it might be relays/controls, I was under the impression that VAGCOM could tell me if the air suspension was not in spec.

08 GTI is obd2 CAN or one of the jxxxx ISO specs.Pretty much anybody with a $40 actron hand held code reader can get codes on that car.

what year is the vehicle in question ?
 
I used to have an older version of VAGCOM, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. I'm not sure if it's the car, cable, or the computer. I'd be willing to try installing it on a different laptop to see if it works if you want. I won't be available for a week or so though.
 
its a 2001 allroad...I checked the fuse and relay, both were good. So now, after just dropping $500 for new bags my friend is going to have to drop $$$ more to get a new compressor :( This is the main reason I sold the one I had.

part of me wants to weld a shrader valve to the air tank so I can manully fill the system, and he can drive it.

its a option. Welding on the shcrader valve.
