Not for me as I am well covered. But my Mom. She has asked me to look around for her. She is 60+, looking for one with little to no medical history checks. Or one that allows for pre-existing conditions without a rate hike. Or just good choices in general. Not looking for a super high policy as she just wants enough to cover her needs if something happens. Probably the 100k plan. But I am open to suggestions and information. Thanks

100k policy for 60+ is going to be very difficult, especially since she doesn't want to go through underwriting. I was in that business for years and here is my opinion.

a 100k policy will require strict underwriting for a woman her age. Policies issued at a certain amount will have little to no underwriting assuming she answers no to 3 questions. If she applies for a 10k whole life policy, and she answers no, she will get issued the policy most likely without an issue. If she answers yes, they're going to want medical.

It really depends on the pre-existing conditions. If you tell me what they are, I can give you an idea of what she will encounter.

i agree with ^^

unfortunately for 100k in coverage most companies will want her to have a medical exam. with pre-existing conditions it will make the rate higher for sure. depending on the condition. however keep in mind make sure she answers everything truthfully bc she can be deny'd any pay out if something were to happen and it wasnt disclosed

Yeah, that's pretty much what I anticipated.

Here is a little info. She has heart condition. Recently had multiple surgeries due to blockages in her arteries. 3 valves in her heart cleaned and stinted. Her neck, Cleaned and stinted, Legs stinted. She is an alcoholic with zero signs of wanting to stop. Has smoked for nearly 50 years, heavily. After her last surgery They found that she has already suffered a minor stroke. She went to the ER yesterday morning complaining of forgetfulness and acting erratically with no memory of it later. Seeing puppy dogs, giraffes, and rainbows in her peripheral vision. They released her with no diagnosis or treatment. She immediately had a few beers after release. She seized around 3-4pm and was taken to hospital in ambulance. Where she is currently in ICU, only blood tests and EKG since admittance. No other tests have been run. But she is currently going through withdraw symptoms. Hospital is not treating for those as they don't want the liability of causing any other issues due to minimal testing.

Yeah, so that's the current situation. If you have a few specific questions, I will answer as best I can.

Sorry bro, but she is uninsurable... For any policy. The minimal underwriting is three questions... She will answer yes to all three, which will result in the company requiring an exam. Once they pulled her medical history, she would be declined regardless of the medical.

Thats what I have been telling her. Kind of knew this going into the question. But it never hurts to ask. I appreciate the input and feed back. Thanks again.
