anyone have a portable surface profilometer, or access to one in a shop?

ive got some parts (like 140 parts) i need to check for work that an engineer is calling out as suspect bad. these are small shafts, i dont need a report or anything, i just need to sort the bad ones from the good. i can kick cash in, just let me know what your looking for.

yes, surface finish is out of spec. is what im being told. it should be a "1" and is not.


wont have the parts till tomorrow. got a number? PM me and ill send you pics of the parts tomorrow.

is it possible to do 140 parts on lunch? lol send me an email address and ill send you what i was told and a pic of what a shaft looks like now, but have no pics of the actual problem yet. these are just hyrdalic pump shafts like 10 inchs wide and 1.5 inch thick. need one small area tested.

Probably looking for a RA, RZ, RY surface finish number? We have a surfometer but I cannot do that many parts for you.
