I got mine through Homie Depot... I waited till they have their Holiday specials... I was originally quoted 12k and ended up only pay 7ish for it all... Counter top I went through my cousin's guy because they both are so anal on jobsites... I'll get you the info...

If you're in FH, check on the place on the corner of Grand River and 9 Mile.
They do countertops, similar to Granite except they're less expensive and won't be as much maintenance.
I forget the name, but its on the south side of GR, cant miss it.

Not really a hookup, but these are what we used when we did our kitchen. Bought them through HD, did the install ourselves. Just over 5k with the granite countertop for a basic 10x10 kitchen with a couple of extra cabinets. I think they're made in Ohio.

Phoenix Countertops in Sterling Hts. I've done 3 kitchens worth of cabinets and countertops through them. Also, if you special order any custom made countertops from Home Depot, Phoenix Countertops is who is actually doing them.

I went thru Cabinets to Go. Everyone quoted us 5-10k (including them). We saw they had a 35% off sale and bought the cabinets. All soft-close hardware, custom layout for our house. Haven't installed anything yet so I don't have countertops picked out yet.

Countertops you go to Home Depot/Lowes buy some luan and 2x4's and three or four backs of concrete mix and make them yourself.

Top fabricators in Taylor was hard to beat. My Merrilat cabinets were about a $1000 cheaper than Home Depot. I had them make my counter top too.
