I think my 4wd is not right and would like to compare it to another truck.

I'll drive to your location.

Thanks,
Dennis

Just stop by a Ram dealership?

Or is there more to this?

Just got the truck back from the Chrysler dealer. When I took it in they agreed that there is a problem. When the service manager called and told me my truck was ready, I asked if I should stop by and test drive it first. He said no its all fixed. Seeing as this was covered under warranty, and he assured me that its all fixed. I was not concerned to test drive it. I picked the truck up at the end of business yesterday. The roads were dry and I had stuff to get taken care of. When I went to pick my daughter up after the high school basketball game, I decided I would try out the 4wd in the parking lot. GUESS WHAT, not even the slightest improvement. This is after being at the dealer for 15 days, a brand new transfer case and front drive shaft being installed.

Obviously, I will not return to that dealer. I also do not want to try another dealer until I can compare it to other trucks. The loaner (rental) truck was a 2015 ram 1500 4x4. When I used the 4wd in that truck it was what I would consider normal.

Oh and I sent a very kind email to him last night, to which he has not replied to today. Really does not matter if he does. Just adds to my growing dislike of Chrysler, the products and the service they provide.

Hmmm, be sure to "play by the rules", just in case this
were to turn into a "lemon law buy back" in the future.

Don't let Ryan (Stalker) see this. He's of the opinion that Chrysler products are so superior in all aspects that every other brand pales in comparison.

No help here, just taking a shot at my usual nemesis....;)

If that it's first time in for service? keep all your service records.

30 days out of service and you have a lemon buy back. My Escape is due back to Ford in the next few days due to lemon buy back.

I'm interested in knowing what it is doing/not doing that you think is the problem?

When turning I get a lot of binding, almost as if the front axle is fighting with the rear. The more I turn the more the truck starts jerking around. This is in 4lock (4hi) not 4low. I've never even driven a truck in 4low that has a condition like I get in 4hi. If I turn or 4hi and back out of my driveway into the street, and had someone in my truck with a blindfold on, you with think that I ran over some fallen trees.

When I first took the truck to the dealer they agreed that there was a issue. When they returned the truck to me, there was no improvement. So they had my truck for 15 days, did major work and no change in results.

I've called Chrysler customer service twice and sent an email. On both calls the only thing they could offer, is for me to return to the dealer. I've been informed that I need to return to the same dealer that has already failed to fix my truck. Also insisted that if I went to a different dealer, that I would have to start the whole process over.

Why the fuck should I have to take it back to a place that had my truck for 15 days, took it apart quite extensively, and didn't fix it, returned it and assured me that it was fixed. Plus they didn't find the 3-2 shift issue, that I told them they would have to drive for a while to find, as its not very frequent. I also now have a dummy light for the gas cap, (came on about 3/4 into a tank of gas) This morning on my way to work, I now have a check engine light.

This is a 50k+ truck. I bought. Unreal as a consumer that I have deal with this. I feel like I'm being ripped off. I will never buy or own a Chrysler product my whole life. I also will never have a good thing to say about them.

I might have missed it, did you say you had this issue when the roads were wet as well?

You will get a bind when the pavement is dry. You should only use 4WD (Low or Hi) on slippery surfaces.

I wonder if you have different gear ratios in the front and rear axles of the truck. Do either of the differentials have ID tags?
