Kicking around the idea of a more fuel efficient DD, I have my GT500 so my Charger RT isnt really much of a thrill lol.

Anyway I have 2 kids still in car seats (2 and 4) and I also want to be able to take my dogs on short trips to pet stores and so on. As of now if I want to take the entire family 2 kids and 2 Doberman's We need to drive the wifes Burban (nicknamed the FUNSUCKER).

I havn't had the chance to take a 5 door focus out yet, but do they have enough room in the hatch area for 2 large dogs? Pictures make it look big but Im sure its not.

Option two would be a new Escape, they seem to be discounting them with the new one on its way. Looked at a new Equinox as well they are pretty nice but dealers really are not dealing, they sell everyone they get in pretty fast.

If I can have my cake and eat it too, i would like to get into a new or newer one for little to no money with my Charger as trade or sell outright. KBB is 18900 for trade and just under 22k clean retail.

I priced out a Focus on the website, it was over 30k...It had everything really, but, its still a Focus....They're not so cheap really....

Im fine with a base car as long as it has cruise. I know how it is if you check all the option boxes. The one I priced out on Fords website was around 20k, I have a coupon for $750 off and it looks like they have around a grand wiggle room.

LOL no Min Pins Rob, my 7 year old girl is 26.5" to the shoulders and 75lbs a pretty typical breed standard girl. My boy is just a puppy, he should be a couple inches larger than my girl and around the same weight up to 90lbs is standard.

No way you can fit 2 Dobes in the back of a Focus. We have an Escape and our 1 Dobe is enough to fill the back by himself.

IMO, to fit a family of 4 and 2 large pets you need a full size SUV.........Expedition, Tahoe etc.

FOcus won't cut it. Bought the wife a Fiesta, and test drove both befor buying. I didn't see enough difference to justify the 5K more cost. Escape would be a way better choice in keeping with teh smaller car theme.

Ill be keeping an eye on this thread, Ive been looking at a 5dr focus as well and am going on friday to see about leasing one.

Did they have a Focus ST at Woodward? When is that due out?

End of the year from what we have been told. Again it's not gonna fit your dogs and kids......unless you feed your kids to your dogs :)

It was just a general question. With luck the new Escape will get better MPG and step up to class leader, just have to wait.

The new Escape is going to be awesome. Oh and so is the GT500, rumor has it's going to be over 200 mph and 600 hp
