They know for a fact i have ulcers ( they said they THINK i may have more then 3)..Im KINDA scared about it because they said they have to knock me out. well im not so much scared but i really just don't know what they have to knock me out for if they are going to be taking X-rays?:dontknow: ...I don't know but we shal see.

Upper GI is easy.

Drinking the barium sucks.

They give you some stuff to expand the stomach that will make you burp but you have to hold it.

Get some x-rays and your done.

They had me scheduled for a lower, but after reading the instructions for the day before I skipped that appointment.

dont worry its a pretty cake procedure, i had an upper gi done a couple years ago, just drink some thick chalky shit and get some x-rays. im pretty sure i was awake during it but cant remember for sure, but i do know its nothing to worry about, (the procedure that is), but the multiple ulcers would suck! good luck with it

I've had multiple upper and lower GI's and none of them were any fun.

They'll probably tell you not to eat for 12 hours before the scope. They'll numb up your throat and probably give you a sedative to relax you. Then the scope is crammed down your throat. You'll have a natural gag reflex during the entire procedure and some pain in your tummy for a few days.

Good luck.

All they have you do is drink excessive amounts of some sort of water that has a salt flavor to clean out your lower intestine. Personally I don't see why they don't write you a script for White Castle, but I guess they have their own protocol.

Thanks for all the info guys. They are going to knock me out for the scope. and they said EVERYTHING should take about an hour or so...
