I am looking at converting mine over to a high lift to fit a 4 post lift in the garage. trying to see if anyone has done this or knows of anyone that can do it. Any insight would be helpful....thanks

I have done some research on The Garage Journal. Are you just moving the track up? If that is the case Im pretty sure you can just add a longer track to raise the curve higher to the ceiling and raise the opener and ceiling track. It seems pretty strait forward.

I'm having one installed now, but it's whoever the builder is using. I'm not sure exactly how they're doing it, I've heard of some guys needing an additional panel on their doors.

you can't just raise the tracks. you need different springs, cables and I think the drums are even different.

does lowes/home depot offer a high lift kit? I thought I saw something like that when I was garage door shopping last year. I might be mixing 2 things up though.

That was my understanding. I was going to try and work it all out, but I'm now wondering how much it would be just to have someone do it for me.

I know my dad did this to his garage door himself years ago. He's been telling me I should do mine as well. I can ask him what was involved.

I would contact Michigan Door & Installation in Troy (248-273-4800). They installed a new garage door at my last house (custom size) and repaired my door at my current house. They are reliable and reasonable.
