Anyone a machinist and can make a small part for me?

Need a small piece made out of stainless (preferably) or aluminum. Will be a part of a fuel system and in constant direct contact with fuel. Part will be about 1"x1"x1" and round but I think will need some mill work in addition to a lathe. It's not complex at all though. If no one here, any recommendations in the Plymouth/Livonia/nearby area? Trying to keep this relatively cheap.

Try these guys. Small shop, east to deal with:

Depending on exactly what you want, I can stay late at work and do it. Drawings or pictures, and some dimensions other than rough size would be helpful.

And if you need this, I can whip up a detailed print for you pretty quick.

I do actually. I have a part I'm trying to replicate but with a hollow center. Basically a bypass for a Bosch-style fuel pressure regulator. I have a set of calipers in the mail to measure this thing (needed them anyway) and once I get those I can move forward.

I can get you contacts for numerous shops on this side of town that can manufacture this for you if any of the ones you talk to can't. They won't be real cheap but they do good work.

Thanks Justin! I'm trying to find someone who'll do it after work for a cash deal to keep it cheap, but it's always nice to have options.

That said, do you guys think it would make sense to have 5-10 of them made? Would it be close to the same price as one, or is machine setup not the major cost for a non-cnc item? If it was like $100 for 1 and $125 for 5 I would probably do that and try to sell the extras. Really trying to keep this more in the $50 range for 1 but not sure if that's possible.

Also, big thanks to Justin (jsxtreme) for making me a great drawing! Just have to finalize a few measurements and I'll be ready to shop around.

Really depends on the part and how many ops are required. I can give you a price once you have the drawing done.

Thanks everyone. Found someone to do it most likely free or damn close. Appreciate everyone's input and especially jsxtreme for the print!

Ok, bringing this back up. Someone I know offered to make this for me but it's been over 4 months now and nothing. Anyone able to do this on the side for a reasonable price and can get it done soon?
