Anybody use Orbitz? Or other travel sites?

I have never had anything go wrong with those sites. It's usually a crapshoot to who is the cheapest. I've used Delta.com, Priceline, and Expedia without any problems. Choose a flight, choose a hotel, give them your credit card. Bam.

That's what I thought it would be too. Now imagine you choose a flight, give them the info, they charge your card, then send you an email saying flight status has changed, the flight is $299, click here to book" yet you have already been charged and do not want the flight at the $299 price.

Then you get to try to explain what happened to a call center and argue about getting money back that they shouldn't have taken in the first place.

With priceline when you choose a flight, give the info, it will give a little popup screen saying "Negotiating" but if the flight is unavailable it will tell you so and not charge you, however expedia charged me even though the flight was not available.

Yeah thats kind of a nightmare. I've used Expedia a bunch of times with only one issue. I went to Muskegon and half way there Expedia calls me and tells me the hotel they set me up with is booked, I threw a fit and they gave me a suite and a different hotel and a $125 credit towards anything I want through Expedia, I thought that was cool.

Yeah that's very cool. In doing some searches yesterday I found that what you just described happened pretty often, but a lot of those posts were from a few years ago, maybe they're better now, because what these people described is it was not taken care of and they were screwed and stuck having to make other arrangements.
