Any ls fbody Guys?

Looking for some fuel system help. Looking to run a walbro 450 -8 feed and using my factory feed as my return. Been doing some research but photobucket fucked a lot of that up. I was planning on running a -8 90 to female barb and that to the the pump inside the stock bucket. Any help?

I'm not familiar with the LS specifically, but 90's in a pressure fluid system aren't the best idea. Go with two 45's and you'll be better off...

Ya been on ls1 and pretty much everyone says run a dual pump setup which I don’t want to do. I have seen people making 800-900 on stock rails and feed with a return and adjustable fpr. I might just go that route.

Haven't started it up yet so I'm partially talking out of my ass, but I rigged up the walbro 400 pump (gas only, won't handle E85) to fit in the uncut factory bucket with the venturi functional. Using V6 factory lines which are the same size but also have a 5/16" return, eliminated the regulator in the tank with a custom bypass plug, and am running 97-98 Corvette fuel rails with an adjustable, boost referenced regulator that fits in place of the factory regulator and looks totally stock.

Information on the fuel pump w/ venturi setup is very scarce but supposedly people have done it before. I have pics and am happy to answer any questions if this is something you want to try.

I think Holley has some nice all in one type designs. That is if you are a lazy bastard like me. The amount of stuff Holley has for Ls is actually pretty amazing. Way better than in 2002 when we were hacking apart our in tank pumps trying to get it to work!

Well i I did a lot of research today and I think I’m good with factory feed and -6 return braided. I see people running the corvette rails but if I just went with a deadhead reg to the factory ls1 rail and return out the bottom be similar in price with more room to work? What poost ref reg did u use? I remember seeing a thread on one a while back.

How much HP are you planning on making? I was making about 450 RWHP on Livernois Dynojet with a Walbro 340 and 60 lb injectors on the stock lines and regulator at 6 psi boost. We just cut the bottom of the bucket for the sock that came with the Walbro. I never had a problem with getting enough fuel.

I’m planning on pushing it to low 6s. At that point I know the stock reg won’t work. I did hear mixed results on the 340 but that’s good info that yours worked well. I was real close to 450 on a dynojet with the t56 na.

There's always Dr. Phil. My Dr. Phil C5 rand high 6s stock motor with paxton SC. Don't remember what pump and injectors but lines were stock. Only using 3200 stall, 3.42 gears and drag radials all else stock.

This is the regulator I used:

Fits right in place of the factory piece on the early C5 rail. Seems like a nice enough piece, but again, haven't fired the engine yet to test. I wanted the stock look though. A traditional regulator might be better for your purposes.

yep that’s it. I thought it was a Audi piece. Let me know how it works out when you get it all finished up. I think a regular reg is what I’m going to use. I just wish someone could explain to me why some people run the reg after the rail bypass style with a return and some deadhead it with the reg before the rails and a return. I have seen no explanation for this lol.

I think theoretically the injectors furthest away from the regulator could experience a slight pressure drop/fluctuation compared to those closest to the regulator when deadheaded. I'm no expert, but I doubt that's relevant at the power levels we're discussing.

Ya a few guys are making 800+ on stock ls1 rails deadhead with -6 to the rail to factory feed via quick connect. Then -6 return back to the tank. I’m wondering if using the front shrader is a bottle neck since it’s about -4? Because it would have to go -4 to -6 then to the fpr when running it as bypass. When dead deadhead it’s -6 or -8 feed and then -6 to the rail. Ls1tech has good info but I’m new to the ls game and it seems that site is very sponser driven. Everyone recommends Lonnie or racetronix dual setup but I just feel like there has to be a more cost effective way that is still safe for decent power.

Where the heck is Larry (1BadAir)? He knows this stuff like the back of his hand.

way back then the 97 vette rail and v6 return lines were common. Regulator in return line will always be better than before.
The vette fuel filter/regulator can also work. I believe racetronics makes a whole kit to run that now also

Yea, I think Harlan got his 10.000 pass on the twin turbo kit with the 97 vette kit and 36 lb injectors with only a single in tank pump.

This would be a good option but I think boost referenced fpr is probabaly a good idea for ease of
tuning. The setup birdie has sounds awesome but I don’t want to be the test subject lol.
