Ive got the 2 bay version of the lower (no locker or top hutch) and the list price was almost $6k in 2008. Id say that thing cost every bit of 12-15k new.

That is a very painful realization. I wish I knew about Craigslist back in the day, I would've rather snagged a used box for the money.

Check craigslist for similar styles that haven't been up for 2 months and you should get close. Anyone that says its worth a ton of money also owns one and hopes theirs is worth the same. I'm not in anyway saying that they are bad boxes but no where near worth the msrp, just like most cars these days too though.

3k is a real number, matco boxes hold value worse than a Hyundai, I have a 144inch long snap on retail is over 25k I purchased it new for ALOT less than that, retail and real world selling are different numbers, 3k is a good deal for a box to keep but there isnt much room to be made on the back end, When i look at/make a offer on a estate tool box i put the value of the box at 0.00 same with SAE tools they are very difficult to sell
